3 Ingredient Healthy Ice Cream
I think we can all agree that ice cream is the best. And it's one of those treats that people believe they have to give up when switching over to a healthier lifestyle. But I'm here to tell you that's not the case. You can make delicious ice cream with three ingredients. How? Well, you'll need:
- The flavor of your choosing
- Non-homogenized cream or full-fat coconut cream
- Raw honey
- Ice cream maker
Pick your flavor
There are a lot of options when it comes to picking your flavor. You can choose frozen fruit like raspberries, strawberries, mango, etc. Or you can use vanilla bean or cocoa if you're into more traditional flavors. I've even used Primal Kitchen Whey Fuel protein to flavor my ice cream, and it was amazing!
Add in your cream
The healthiest and best tasting option is non-homogenized cream. But if you can't find that, then organic or regular cream will work fine as well. If you have a hard time with dairy, you can use full-fat coconut cream.
Once you've picked what you're going to use, it's time to get started.
Add 2 cups of frozen fruit OR 2 scoops of your protein, 1 cup of your creme, and a little squeeze of honey into a blender and blend.
Add mixture into ice cream maker, hit start, and wait until it's ready to serve. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
My favorite recipe is:
- 2 cups raspberries
- 1 cup non-homogenized cream
- A little squeeze of raw honey
This recipe allows you to get the same feel and taste of ice cream without the stomach aches. Dessert doesn't have to be a "guilty pleasure." With a little planning and time, you can enjoy a treat that's delicious and improves your health.
