Eat for your future body
If you’re in your 20s eat for your future body in it’s 30s. If you’re in your 30s eat for your future body in it’s 40s. This mindset allows you to eat with perspective and better purpose.
Being in my 20s and very active, I can get by with eating whatever I want. However, my end goal is to be 75 and extremely active. My mindset is to eat for the next decade. Unfortunately, food is like a slow poison that, being so gradual, your body doesn't notice until something extreme happens. Ann Wigmore said it best, "The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine, or the slowest form of poison.' Let's not allow our bodies to reach that point. If we have, let’s start today and commit to build a healthy lifestyle one habit at at time!
Compound of Food
Researchers at Cornell conducted a study called Mindless Eating: The 200 Daily Food Decisions We Overlook". (Wansink, Brian and Jeffrey Sobal 2007.) They found that people make an average of 226.7 food-based decisions per day. That’s a lot of decisions per day and can greatly compound over several months, years, and especially a decade!
When you begin to understand what your body is, you can gain self control over those 200 plus food-based decisions. Focus on changing one habit at a time and, overtime, all of your bad habits will become good ones!

Eating for the next decade mindset isn’t about trying to eliminate bad food from your diet all at once. It’s about being committed to improve your health one habit at a time. Eating for the next decade is about making the efforts now in a healthy body to make sure you enjoy a healthy body in your next decade.
