My Top 10 Healthy Fats and Why

1. Avocado

Avocados have a high amount of healthy fats and vitamins, both good for the brain and your skin. Avocados go well with any meal of the day and have a very versatile use. Add them with your eggs, smoothie, or steak dinner, and they enhance the taste and nutritional value.

2. Eggs

Similar to avocados, eggs have a great combo of fat and vitamins. Eggs also have a good amount of protein and contain all nine essential amino acids. Eggs are an indispensable food and an excellent source of fat. Can use eggs in many different ways and meals.

3. Dark Chocolate

High in antioxidants and fat dark chocolate is a great-tasting snack or dessert. One of my favorite snacks is dark chocolate with a scoop of almond butter. It fills me up and satisfies my cravings.

4. Macadamia Nuts

According to some, they are called the King of Nuts, and I couldn’t agree more. Macadamia nuts are rich in healthy fats, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins. One of my favorite healthy bread recipes is made mainly from macadamia nuts, coconut butter, and eggs—a great snack and addition to baking recipes.

5. Olives and Olive oil

Olives and olive oil are excellent sources of healthy fats, vitamin E, and antioxidants. Great for your skin and brain health. My favorite way to use both of these is in salads. Check out my 30-day Salad guide for recipes.

6. Salmon

A fantastic source of omega-3 fatty acids making it essential because your body doesn’t create them. Salmon isn’t just a healthy fat. It’s also a great protein source and full of B vitamins.

7. Whole Milk Yogurt

Yogurt is an excellent healthy fat, protein, and probiotic. The key with yogurt is finding the right brands so you can get a yogurt that is full of great fats and living probiotics. Nancy’s yogurt is a great option I love. Make sure you get the whole milk yogurt for additional healthy fats.

8. Almond butter

Almond butter or even really any nut butters are a great change of pace healthy fat. As I mentioned before I love to use this with dark chocolate. It’s great by itself as well. Travels well for your long days or road trips.

9. Sardines

Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, and protein makes sardines a must have healthy fat. The best part about sardines is how cheap they are. Can find them in most stores and they travel really well.

10. Coconut meat

Most people just talk about coconut water when it comes to the coconut. The coconut meat is where the nutrients are located. After drinking the coconut water, inside the coconut is a white layer called the meat. This is full of healthy fats, fiber, and stabilizes your insulin levels. The best part is the amazing taste!
